The first 20 seconds as an intro is a little long. Rest of the song is decent, but imo the best bit starts at 3:05. It's bretty good

Zleun72 responds:

Thank you for the feedback =)

I'm gonna give you two stars based on the first five seconds, because that shit is tight as fuck. The song immediately falls off a cliff after that and the rest is pure poop ass. Put those training wheels back on, son.

EvilSquireAlt responds:

noooo

It's sort of ironic that you plan to release a debut album titled "Fuck Punk" but tag the track with two separate punk labels. I can only infer that this means that the phrase "Fuck Punk" is some kind of layered ironic sarcasm which kind of matches exactly how I feel about this particular track. It doesn't feel particularly inspired, the lyrics are almost unintelligible but what parts can be understood don't seem to match the aesthetic of the musical content. Whatever musical genre this exists in floats in the ether - it's not noisy enough or brash enough to be noise, it's not cohesive enough to be shoegaze. I'll spot you lo-fi - it definitely hits a home run in that category. As for experimental? If you can count the proto-punk philosophy of "what if we made something aggressively bad for the sake of being bad" as experimental, then with a little convincing I might give you that, too.

I flipped through each of the links in the description and the Instagram page has the most put-together atmosphere of the whole thing. Anyway, my favorite part of the whole bit was the bridge at around 2:05 - that bit is pretty classic noisy shoegaze and I think you're barkin' up the right tree artistically.

RedAndrew responds:

Thank you for the honest review. However, I think arguing about what genre this is is pointless because all people see it differently. And the kind of tags I put are my interpretation of what I think this music is. It is also based on what people have told me about what does the sound remind them. As for the title "Fuck Punk" it is in no way sarcastic or ironic. The correct meaning of the title is that it is it's own genre. Like let's say one guy says he's going to grindcore concert. And the other one responds with "oh yeah well I'm going to a fuck punk concert". I thought it would be a fitting name for the album and I don't see anything wrong with that. It's not saying fuck punk music.

it's chunky in the best way possible

this is pretty fuckin' solid, reminds me a little bit of the music featured in the pinball table Total Nuclear Annihilation. you're barking up the right tree with this demo, keep on chugging

it's a real splapper, those arp sounds and lush chords are real nice. the transitions are well done, no messin' around. it's a very fundamentally sound track with some nice ideas and tweaks, such as the twanging that starts building up around 2:27

XenoXenon responds:

thank you ;)

that bass is so fat it literally makes me shit my pants

BRUNOOO1545 responds:

that's the idea, you can shit peacefully

it's bretty gud, but you gotta change up that kick-clap pattern, it goes on for too long. right when we get to the cool hi-hats at 1:43, it only lasts for two bars and then we're right back to the kick-clap. gotta tighten up those transitions, really give the song a cohesive feel throughout the track. bring people up and then down, but make sure you at least give each section a little breathing room

Ivan252 responds:

Thank you so much for that feedback and I'll make sure to improve in the future!

it didn't have meaning but now it does? what is the new meaning? i am thinking about it per the title but i don't know what i'm supposed to be thinking about and i need answers.

it's a pretty tight groove, think you ought to sit down and really figure out what you're doing with those drum sounds in the background there, they're a little too quiet, they're just kinda farting around in the background while the melody and bassline have a good time

i'm losing my fuckin MIND

Its time to Rave 2 The Grave! (this hasn't changed since 2006 and I'm going to keep it here forever)
